Boxcar Coffee Roasters Wins a 2026 Good Food Award - Ethiopia Chelbesa Danche Yellow Honey

At Boxcar Coffee Roasters, we believe exceptional coffee should support producers, reward sustainable farming practices, and strengthen the long term future of specialty coffee across the supply chain. That’s why we’re honored to announce that Ethiopia - Chelbesa Danche Yellow Honey has been recognized with a 2026 Good Food Foundation Good Food Award!

The Good Food Awards celebrates products that meet the highest standards for both quality and responsible production. Each winner is selected not only for outstanding quality, but also for a commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, transparency, and ethical sourcing practices. For coffee roasters, earning a Good Food Award means demonstrating excellence across the entire supply chain, from the farm level to the final cup.

We believe sustainability in coffee goes beyond certifications or marketing language. It means paying sustainable prices, supporting producer partners year after year, and helping create a future where specialty coffee production remains viable for generations to come. Recognition from the Good Food Awards reinforces the value of our efforts, and of the coffees produced with care and integrity that we choose to showcase on our menu.

This coffee stood out to the Good Food Awards judges for its complexity, distinct fruit flavors, and delicate, perfectly clean cup. Flavors of fresh yellow peach, orange blossom, and wild strawberry are undeniable and linger long after the last sip.

We’re incredibly grateful for the 800 farmers who grew this coffee, our roasting team, and our customers who continue to support thoughtfully sourced, delicious coffee. Awards like these are never the result of one company alone, they reflect the work of everyone involved throughout the coffee supply chain.

The 2026 harvest of Chelbesa Danche Yellow Honey will be available as soon as it arrives next Month. In the meantime, Boxcar’s Ethiopia season is off to a great start with Musa Abalulesa washed, and our direct-trade microlots from El Salvador are on fire this year!
